Alhamdulillah a year in review

Assalaamu alaykum warahmatulahi wa barakatu.
Early 2008 I made a visit to Al-Manaar Masjid in Ladbroke Grove.
A local charity was asking for £1 a day. After reflecting on this need I decided to ask a few friends to join me, but instead of £1 a day, It was decided on £1 a week as many of us are facing financial difficulties ourselves.

We started on our own journey of helping as many people as Allah permits.
Al-Huriyah offers the opportunity for the financially strained to give in charity on a regular basis to people known to us personally or on recommendation from a trusted source.

Below is a small preview of those we have helped from sponsorship, food parcels, small gifts, Tube Wells built, trees planted, sewing machines supplied, chickens for farmers and so much more Alhamdulillah!

The pictures below are to show how much a £1 donation can benefit so many Subhan'Allah. Our contribution to the larger projects  shown is to donate a percentage of monthly takings when excess funds are available and to also do fundraising to reach our target for such projects.
By the permission of Allah subhanawata'ala we are in our fourth year now, and hope to keep going with your generous donations inshaAllah.

Subhan'Allah there are other smaller projects too and although we prefer not to use charities sometimes we have to as we do not have the facilities to build wells, plant trees. Our purpose is to give everyone the chance to donate a very small amount to us so we may gather enough for a Tube Well etc.

Most of our monthly sadaqa is used to pay for our monthly commitments and we also take from it small amounts to use for the larger projects so that we may all benefit Bi ihdnIllah

The monthly commitments  are 5 orphans in Gaza, Syria, Sudan and Morocco.
4 families in Morocco in need of medication, a widower in Palestine with young children, a widow in Gambia with children and a child in India with Thalessamia.

Jazakum'Allahu Khairan to all who have supported us since 2010, May Allah increase your rizq, increase you all in goodness and raise you to Jannah Firdous amongst the best of creation. Please continue to support us so that we may endeavour to help as many as Allah wills. May He accept our efforts for His sake and may this project be a means for us to reunite in Jannah Firdous.

Ameen

Just to add, a sr wanted us to find an orphanage to feed as many as possible. She gave us £100 to do this.
We contacted sr Amina from Markoiro Bunda Gambia.
There was no orphanage to feed but, despite it being a holiday, they called the whole school of 200 plus students and community into school to feed them all.

Her in laws prepared and cooked all the food fi sabil Illah and everybody managed to eat Alhamdulillah. She said that some of these children may not have eaten for a few days Subhan'Allah. We have decided to do this again from your sadaqa. We have a  £50 donation so need to raise another £50 bi ihdnIllah. Below are some pics from the day.

Should you like to donate direct to Gambia please visit sr Aminas FB page here

Alhamdulillah last minute good news

Because the school feed project was so well organised and benefitted so many, we have paid from your sadaqa and extra donations for another big feed  for 200+ Subhan'Allah.
I will post the pics again as soon as this is done bi ihdnIllah .

We have also been given donations from one family to supply as many families as possible with food for a week and for   Amina to buy an elderly Aunty a bag of cement and boards to help fix up her home. She is looking after her two orphaned Grandchildren after their Father was killed in an accident their Mother died six months later. Inna Lilaahi wa Inna Ilayhi rajioon.

Jazkum'Allahu Khairan to you all. Please share with all.

It was related on the authority of Abu Hurairah (may God be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“Whosoever relieves from a believer some grief pertaining to this world, Allah will relieve from him some grief pertaining to the Hereafter. Whosoever alleviates the difficulties of a needy person who cannot pay his debt, Allah will alleviate his difficulties in both this world and the Hereafter. Whosoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter. Allah will aid a servant (of His) so long as the servant aids his brother. Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather together in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, except that tranquility descends upon them, mercy covers them, the angels surround them, and Allah makes mention of them amongst those who are in His presence. Whosoever is slowed down by his deeds will not be hastened forward by his lineage.”
